About Sydney Lyric

Sydney Lyric is a large theatre within The Star on Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, overlooking Pyrmont Bay. Opened in 1997 and operated by Foundation Theatres, it presents major musicals and has hosted Hamilton, Matilda the Musical, Mary Poppins and Wicked. Movable, acoustically transparent walls let the auditorium switch between 1,350, 1,500, 1,750 and 2,000 seats in under a minute.

Getting there

Light rail: The L1 Dulwich Hill Line stops at The Star; follow the signs to the theatre.

Bus: Route 389 (Bondi Junction to Pyrmont) and route 501 (Parramatta to Central via Pyrmont) stop in front of The Star or nearby in Pyrmont.

Ferry: The F4 Pyrmont Bay service stops at Pyrmont Bay Wharf, a five-minute walk from the theatre.

Car: Harbourside Car Park, a 5 to 10-minute walk away, offers patrons a discounted rate when pre-booked with the codeword LYRIC. The Star Car Park on Pirrama Road charges full rates.

Accessibility

The Star Car Park is the best accessible parking, a five-minute walk with ramp access, and there is a drop-off zone at The Star’s Harbourside entrance on Pirrama Road with lift or escalator access. The Stalls have the easiest access, with ramps via Doors 13 and 18, and Row Q suits patrons who can transfer from a wheelchair. Accessible bathrooms are in the Stalls and Dress Circle foyers and a hearing loop serves the Stalls. Book access or Companion Card seats through the Box Office call-back service.
