About Newcastle Entertainment Centre

Newcastle Entertainment Centre is a multi-purpose indoor arena within the Newcastle Showground at Broadmeadow, six minutes from central Newcastle. Opened in 1992 and owned by Venues NSW, it hosts concerts, comedy, family shows, netball and boxing. Curtaining, portable seating and a movable stage let its capacity range from a 1,500-seat theatre mode to 7,528 in general admission mode.

Getting there

Train: Broadmeadow Station is about 200 metres from the entry.

Bus: Newcastle Buses run services to and from Broadmeadow Station.

Car: More than 1,500 on-site spaces are in the Newcastle Showground, entered from Griffiths Road. Parking fees depend on the event.

Accessibility

Accessible seating is available for every event, though its location and capacity vary with the staging. Tickets for patrons and carers are held and can be bought by emailing admin@nec.net.au with your phone number; mention accessible seating when booking, as the venue may not be able to accommodate requests on the day. Accessible toilets are located throughout the centre and in the forecourt, a wheelchair is available from reception, and the centre is part of the Hidden Disability Sunflower program. The closest accessible drop-off is Brown Road, where three accessible parking spaces sit in front of the Showground entrance.
