About Qtopia Sydney
Qtopia Sydney is a centre for queer history and culture at 301 Forbes Street, Darlinghurst, in the former Darlinghurst Police Station, where '78ers were held after Australia's first Mardi Gras march in 1978. Opened there in February 2024, it combines exhibitions with a year-round performance program. Shows are staged in the step-free Loading Dock Theatre at the Forbes Street building and in The Substation, an intimate 40-seat space in the heritage Taylor Square Substation.
