About Belvoir St Theatre

Belvoir St Theatre is a two-stage theatre at 25 Belvoir Street, Surry Hills, in a former factory near Central Station. It opened as the Nimrod Theatre in 1974 and took its current name in 1984, when a group of 600 theatre lovers bought the building to stop it becoming an apartment block. It is home to the Belvoir theatre company, which presents an annual season in the 330-seat Upstairs Theatre and the 80-seat Downstairs Theatre.
