About Forum Melbourne

Forum Melbourne is a live music and events venue on the corner of Flinders and Russell streets, operated by Marriner Group. It opened on 23 February 1929 as the State Theatre, an atmospheric picture palace designed by John Eberson with a Moorish exterior and a starry-sky ceiling. Renamed the Forum in 1962, it has hosted concerts, comedy and film since 1995 and is on the Victorian Heritage Register.
