About Anita’s Theatre
Anita’s Theatre is a historic Illawarra performing-arts venue that began as King’s Theatre and has also served as a cinema and roller-skating rink. Today it hosts live music, comedy and performing arts, with 820 seats or room for 1,200 patrons in general-admission configuration.
Getting there
Train: Thirroul Station is about 600 metres away, an approximately eight-minute walk.
Bus: Several bus stops in Thirroul are around a one-minute walk from the theatre.
Car: Parking is available off King Street, or at the free Church Street and Cliff Parade Thirroul Beach car parks, each about a seven-minute walk away.
Accessibility
The accessible entrance and drop-off area are at the rear via King Street, and a unisex accessible toilet is in the foyer. Reserved shows offer six accessible seats near the entrance, while general-admission shows have a ramped raised platform. Companion Cards and guide or support dogs are welcome; book accessible seating through Ticketmaster’s Accessible Seating Team.
Access arrangements can change, so please confirm with the venue before you go.
Where to sit
Anita's Theatre holds 820 for seated shows. At general admission shows (up to 1,200) there are no floor seats: you can stand on the floor or take a seat in the Upper Stalls, Balcony or boxes, first in, first served, so arrive early if you'd rather sit. Box seats are set out oddly (seats 1 and 8 are singles, while 2 and 3, 4 and 5, and 6 and 7 are pairs), so check you've picked seats side by side. Accessible seats are at the front of the auditorium for seated shows and on a raised platform at GA shows.
Layouts change from show to show, so check the seating map when you book.
