About Queensland Performing Arts Centre

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is Queensland’s major performing arts centre, set within Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct at South Bank. Its five performance venues include the Lyric Theatre, Concert Hall, Playhouse, Cremorne Theatre and Glasshouse Theatre; the 2,000-seat Lyric hosts large-scale productions, while the versatile Concert Hall presents orchestral music, popular music, comedy and more.

Getting there

Train: South Brisbane station is directly opposite QPAC on Grey Street.

Bus: Cultural Centre bus station is on Melbourne Street.

Ferry: South Bank ferry terminal is a short walk along the river.

Car: Performing Arts Car Park (P1), entered via Stanley Place, is QPAC’s most convenient parking option; spaces can be limited at peak times.

Accessibility

Lifts serve the Lyric Theatre and Concert Hall foyers, and accessible toilets are available across both venues. Wheelchair spaces are offered at all performances, subject to availability, and Auracast assistive listening covers both auditoriums, with receivers available from the cloakroom. QPAC accepts Companion Cards; call QTIX on 136 246 or visit the box office to arrange accessible seating or a companion ticket.

Access arrangements can change, so please confirm with the venue before you go.

Where to sit

The Lyric Theatre (about 2,000 seats) is horseshoe-shaped, with Stalls and two balconies, Balcony 1 and Balcony 2. The Concert Hall seats 1,600 facing the stage, or 1,800 when the choir balcony seats are used, and for some events it's set up in reverse mode with seating on the stage.

The Playhouse has 850 seats over two levels, the stalls and a balcony, with rows reached from side aisles. The Cremorne Theatre is a small, versatile space, so check the seating map for your show.

Layouts change from show to show, so check the seating map when you book.
