About The West End Electric

The West End Electric is a theatre and bar at 125 Boundary Street, West End, run by Brisbane-born production house Strut & Fret. It opened in late August 2024 as part of Brisbane Festival. The venue has more than 400 seats and a design that nods to London's West End theatre district. It presents cabaret, circus, comedy and live music, with a main theatre bar and a balcony bar open before and after shows.

Getting there

Bus: Routes 192, 196, 198, 199 and N199 (NightLink) serve the nearest stops: Boundary St at Jane St, stop 6 (120 m), and Boundary St at West End Junction, stop 5 (130 m). South Bank Cultural Centre busway station is about 750 m away.

Train: South Brisbane station is about 850 m away.

Car: There is no designated parking; use street parking in the surrounding area. The entrance is on the Wilson Street side of the building, on the corner of Boundary and Wilson streets.

Accessibility

The main theatre seating area has level access from Wilson Street. The main bar and accessible bathroom are on a raised platform level reached by a platform lift (260 kg limit) or four steps, while the second-floor balcony bar and its bathrooms can only be reached by 25 steps. If you use a mobility device or have a seating request, email ticketing@strutnfret.com at least two business days before you attend so staff can reserve a space. The venue supports the Companion Card program: book your full-price ticket, then email to request the companion ticket.

Access arrangements can change, so please confirm with the venue before you go.

Where to sit

The West End Electric seats more than 400 around a main stage and a round centre stage that thrusts into the room. Ringside VIP is the ring closest to the centre stage, with Premium rows behind it and General Admission down both sides. Platform VIP is on the raised platform by the main bar at the back. Most seats aren't allocated within each section, so you can book separately and arrive together to sit together, while VIP seats are allocated by staff on the day; wheelchair spaces are available in Ringside VIP, Premium and General Admission.

Layouts change from show to show, so check the seating map when you book.
