About Riverstage
Riverstage is an open-air amphitheatre beside the Brisbane River in the City Botanic Gardens, run by Brisbane City Council. Opened in 1989 and inspired by the World Expo 88 stage, its grassed slope holds about 9,000 people for concerts by local, national and international acts. It also hosts community events, including the Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols, and can be hired for private events.
Getting there
Train: South Bank Station is an 850-metre walk via the Goodwill Bridge. Central Station is 1.9 kilometres away via Edward Street and the City Botanic Gardens.
Ferry: QUT Gardens Point, a CityCat and Express CityCat stop, is a 280-metre walk.
Bus: The free City Loop (routes 40 and 50) stops on Alice Street outside the gardens. South Bank busway station is about a kilometre away via the Goodwill Bridge.
Car: There is no on-site parking. Street parking on Alice Street is limited, so use paid car parks in the CBD or South Bank.
Accessibility
Riverstage is wheelchair accessible, but as an outdoor amphitheatre on a slope it has varying gradients. A limited accessible viewing platform sits at the top of the hill with a wheelchair-accessible portable toilet nearby; book it with one companion or Companion Card seat through Ticketmaster's accessible line (1300 446 925) or online request form. Drop-off for patrons with mobility needs is at the Gardens Point Road roundabout, and an accessible sign at the bottom of Gate 1 marks the entry.
Access arrangements can change, so please confirm with the venue before you go.
