About His Majesty's Theatre

His Majesty's Theatre is a heritage-listed Edwardian theatre on the corner of Hay and King streets in central Perth. Opened on Christmas Eve 1904, it is believed to be the only remaining working Edwardian theatre in Australia. Its 1,253-seat horseshoe auditorium spans three levels, and it is home to West Australian Ballet and West Australian Opera alongside musicals, plays, comedy and concerts. The State Government bought the theatre in 1977.
