About Astor Theatre Perth
The Astor Theatre is a heritage-listed theatre on the corner of Beaufort and Walcott streets in Mount Lawley, an inner northern suburb of Perth. It opened as The Lyceum in 1919 and was remodelled in the Inter-War Art Deco style in 1939 to plans by cinema architect William Leighton. Saved from demolition by public outcry and refurbished in 1991, it now presents concerts, comedy, tribute shows and screenings in seated and standing layouts.
