About Brisbane City Hall

Brisbane City Hall is the heritage-listed seat of Brisbane City Council, facing King George Square in the city centre. Built between 1920 and 1930 and officially opened in 1930, it hosts concerts, exhibitions and civic events. Its circular Main Auditorium, modelled on the Pantheon in Rome, sits beneath a large copper dome and seats up to 1,600 people. The building reopened in 2013 after a three-year restoration.

Car: Street parking in the CBD is limited. Council's King George Square Car Park and Wickham Terrace Car Park are a short walk away and open seven days a week.

Accessibility

Ramp access leads into the building through the main entrance on King George Square, and lifts with accessible controls serve the building. Wheelchair seating is allocated on the Main Auditorium balcony. There are accessible toilets on the ground floor and level 3, a Changing Places room with ceiling hoist on the ground floor, braille signage and audio looping throughout. A taxi rank is on the corner of Ann and Roma streets, and the Mobility Centre lends wheelchairs and walkers.

Access arrangements can change, so please confirm with the venue before you go.
