About The Gov

The Gov, formally the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel, is a live music venue and pub on Port Road in Hindmarsh, across the road from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Run by the Tonkin family since 1993, it has a capacity of 1,200 across three stages, eight event spaces and seven bars, and presents touring and local bands, tribute acts and comedy, plus regular free gigs in the front bar.

Getting there

Tram: The Gov says the tram from the city is free: board anywhere along King William Road or North Terrace and get off at the Entertainment Centre stop.

Bus: Routes 151, 152, 153 and 155 run from North Terrace to the Entertainment Centre.

Car: There is free and paid parking along Gibson Street and Station Place and around Hindmarsh and Bowden, including the Raptis car park on Gibson Street and the Entertainment Centre car park across the road.

Accessibility

Shows are general admission standing unless specified, with seating provided where possible when a show does not sell out. The Gov says it will cater to access requirements and asks patrons with access needs to call 08 8340 0744 or email info@thegov.com.au before the show. Companion Card holders should email a copy of their card and the show details. Assistance dogs are welcome in indoor areas.
