About Capri Theatre

The Capri Theatre is a heritage-listed cinema on Goodwood Road in Goodwood, in Adelaide's inner south. It opened in October 1941 and since 1978 has been owned by the Theatre Organ Society of Australia (SA Division), whose WurliTzer theatre pipe organ, installed in 1983, rises from the stage before evening sessions on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Run by volunteers as a not-for-profit, it screens new films and hosts festivals, comedy and live music.

Getting there

Public transport: The Capri is on Goodwood Road at the corner of Gilbert Street. Plan bus or train trips with Adelaide Metro.

Car: There is no on-site parking. The venue suggests parking in the surrounding backstreets, the car park behind the Goodwood shops one block north, or at the Goodwood Community Centre. A loading zone on Gilbert Street can be used for drop-offs.

Accessibility

The Capri has flat access at all front doors on Goodwood Road and Gilbert Street, accessible toilets off the main foyer and a wheelchair lift for the three steps into the stalls. The Gilbert Street loading zone can be used as a drop-off point, but there is no on-site parking and no accessible parking in the immediate vicinity. The Companion Card is accepted for all sessions and events; complimentary companion tickets are issued in person at the box office, not online.

Access arrangements can change, so please confirm with the venue before you go.
