About The Arts Theatre

The Arts Theatre is a community theatre on Angas Street in the south-east of Adelaide's CBD, built in 1963 by the Adelaide Repertory Theatre, which still owns and runs it. The 492-seat venue, with an orchestra pit and bar, stages around 14 shows a year by the Rep and several of Adelaide's major amateur theatre companies, and is a major Adelaide Fringe venue for stand-up comedians and entertainers.

Getting there

Public transport: The theatre is on the western corner of Angas and Moore streets in the city centre. Plan bus, tram or train trips with Adelaide Metro.

Car: UPark Central Market is a short walk away: exit onto Gouger Street and head east across King William Street, where Gouger Street becomes Angas Street. Evening and weekend flat rates apply.

Accessibility

The Arts Theatre lists wheelchair access and a hearing loop. A $1 seat levy on every ticket goes to a redevelopment fund aimed at improving accessibility. Tickets are booked directly with each presenting theatre company, so contact the company, or the theatre on 08 8221 5644, to discuss access needs before booking.

Access arrangements can change, so please confirm with the venue before you go.
