About Theatre Royal Hobart
The Theatre Royal on Campbell Street, Hobart, opened in 1837 and is Australia's oldest working theatre. Since 2020 the 700-seat theatre has been part of The Hedberg, a performing arts precinct shared with the University of Tasmania. The Hedberg added three levels of foyers and bars and a new Studio Theatre. Each year the Theatre Royal curates a season of contemporary performance and events, alongside visiting productions.
