About The Pajama Game
Winner of the 1955 Tony Award for Best Musical—and over fifty years later, the Tony
Award for Best Revival—The Pajama Game is a timeless tale of love, labour, and
laughter. With an fantasic score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross the musical
features beloved theatre standards including Hey There, Steam Heat, and
Hernando’s Hideaway.
It’s the early 1950s, the story takes place at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory, where
tensions rise as workers campaign for a 7½ cent pay increase. Amid the unrest,
sparks fly between the factory’s new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and Babe
Williams, head of the union grievance committee—setting the stage for both a labour
showdown and a romantic tug-of-war.
Neglected Musicals will present the show with scripts in hand and piano
accompaniment—after just one day of rehearsal.
Playing the feisty BABE Williams is Zoe Gertz (Come From Away, Playing Our
Song) and the chap making her life tricky is Drew Weston (Titanique, Dream Lover)
as Sid Sorokin. Joining them is P Tucker Worley (Promises, Promises , West Side
Story) as Vernon, Catty Hamilton (Kiss Me Kate, Grease) as Gladys and
Mackenzie Dunn (Annie, Grease) as Mabel.
Also in the cast is Dean Vince as Prez, Tom Sharah as Myron Hasler, Chloe
Marshall as Mae, Drew Livingston as Pop, Caity Plummer as Poopsie, Joel
Houwen as Joe, Tom New as Charlie and Jayme Jo as Brenda.
