Following our sold-out Puccini Gala in 2024, we’re paying tribute to another Italian opera god: Giuseppe Verdi. Hear hits you love from his most famous operas, alongside some rarely performed music in these very special concerts.

Verdi is one of opera’s most influential and beloved composers, who brought some of the most moving stories ever written to the stage: from the soaring, tragic romance of La Traviata, to the dark melodrama of Rigoletto, and the grandeur of Aida. He set these stories to music of unsurpassed beauty.

Australian opera superstar Nicole Car is celebrated across the world for her golden, honey-hued voice and magnetic stage presence. She returns to her hometown with French-Canadian baritone Étienne Dupuis, Nicole’s husband and an opera superstar in his own right, leading a fabulous cast of singers.

With Orchestra Victoria out of the pit, and on the stage of Hamer Hall, you’ll hear every rich detail in Verdi’s luscious orchestrations and feel the force of his unforgettable melodies.
